The Bristol Versions

The Bristol issue of Lyrical Ballads exists in several states, two of which will be represented here. Bristol (A) 1798 contains "Lewti" and Cottle's advertizements. Bristol (B) 1798 contains the prefatory "Advertisement", "The Nightingale", and " Lewti".

The Bristol Lyrical Ballads is far too rare and fragile to subject to the stresses of digital scanning. The page images presented here were instead scanned from a copy of the 1926 Noel Douglas replica in the personal collection of the editors.
